Going off diet to celebrate 6 months work anniversary. Actually made it on the 23rd, but did not celebrate. This is the first time in ten years that I have worked a consecutive six months outside of the home. Prior, I would be hospitalized or otherwise debilitated after three months.

From the Beck Diet Solution, Day 37:

Everyone experiences some type of stress every day. In fact, mild stress can actually be helpful if it motivates you to be productive. But moderate to high levels of stress are counterproductive. Even if you’re not under much stress today, you will be sooner or later, so prepare yourself now.

I am truly about to enter a high-stress season. I will be both teaching and taking classes online, in addition to working part time and managing my daily websites. I know that stress eating has been a problem for me in the past. I’m hoping that I’ll almost be just too busy to think about eating too much. But I also have to think about when I am going to sleep and do homework, not to mention prepare my diet meals now that I have a meal plan.

In the past when I have become stressed-out, my mind has turned a corner on me and left me to wade in depression or schizophrenia. I don’t want to cause a breakdown, but I have been making such progress since being out of the hospital nine months now. I want to make it to the year mark and beyond. I can’t afford a major setback, but I feel I can’t afford not to keep it moving. I will be leaning on God for strength. That’s the best advice I have for my life.
